Information Technology Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) Request Policy

Note: An owner must be a PCES-level manager or higher.
This policy provides formally documented management expectations and intentions.
This document is intended to provide Information Technology (IT) employees and managers written guidance on what to do if approached with a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request for information.
This policy applies to all Postal Service personnel and contracted vendors within the CIO organization.
If you receive a FOIA related inquiry you must forward the request to the Program Manager, Information Catalog Program (ICP) (ICPMail@usps.gov) within the Corporate Information Security Office (CISO) for review and approval, and to ensure appropriate action is taken. Do not respond yourself. All FOIA requests are to be considered sensitive and confidential.
