PATTERSON, CA — Residents at Patterson’s Diablo Grande Golf Resort can now tee-up from the “blue tees,” Postal Blue that is. On Friday, Sept. 5, 2014, at noon, a grand opening will be held at the Water District building, 9501 Morton Davis Drive, when Diablo Grande becomes a Village Post Office (VPO).

Diablo Grande is an open space and recreational, master-planned community set within approximately 30,000 acres of historic ranchlands in Stanislaus County.

Diablo Grande feels that the addition of a VPO will serve their community well. The Patterson Post Office is 13 miles away, so having U.S. Postal Service products and services on the grounds is an added convenience for the residents.

Customers are able to purchase Forever Stamps, drop off prepaid mail and packages and pick up free Priority Mail Flat Rate Boxes and envelopes. The convenience for customers is that many VPOs offer expanded business hours, including Sundays and holidays.

VPOs are located within existing communities in a variety of locations, including convenience stores, local businesses and libraries, and are operated by the management of those locations.

Post Office Operations Manager Jagdeep Grewal and Patterson Postmaster Jasmine Kaur will join Diablo Grande officials in the grand opening ceremonies.

The Postal Service receives no tax dollars for operating expenses and relies on the sale of postage, products and services to fund its operations.
