Richmond Main Post Office temporarily closed for repairs

Retail operations relocated to alternate stations, effective Aug. 27, 2015

RICHMOND, CA — The Richmond Main Post Office located at 1025 Nevin Avenue, Richmond, CA 94801, will be temporarily closed for repair due to mold found in the basement. An emergency contingency action plan to relocate retail operations has been implemented for the safety of employees and customers.

Customers with PO Boxes at the Nevin Ave. Post Office can pick up their mail at the McVittie Annex Will- Call Door at 2100 Chanslor Avenue, Richmond, CA  94804, between the hours of 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., which is less than a mile away from the Richmond Main Post Office. There is no retail service at this facility.

Notices have been posted to direct customers to the alternate sites and barricades placed to prevent access to the building.

Locations and hours of alternate sites are below. For Passport Services, customers are directed to Point Station.

Richmond Postmaster Gurpreet (Gopi) Sohal apologizes for the inconvenience this may cause during the repairs.
