PACIFICA, CA — Now when customers shop for groceries, make vacation plans through the in-store travel agency, or purchase cargo boxes for international shipping, they can add postage and U.S. Postal Service products to their shopping list at the Little Quiapo Asian Food market at 753 Hickey Blvd, Pacifica, CA 94044.

On Friday, Nov. 20, 2015, at 1:30 p.m., customers will be treated to a grand opening ceremony by store owner Ester Payumo and Postal Service officials as the store at the Fairmont Shopping Mall becomes a Village Post Office (VPO).

Little Quiapo is a small convenience store that sells groceries and cargo shipping supplies, serves as a travel agency and offers money remittance. Payumo has owned the store for the past thirty-five years. “I really want to make everything convenient for my customers,” said Payumo.

The store has convenient hours for Postal Service customers, Monday – Friday:  9:00 a.m. – 9:00 p.m., Saturday – Sunday: 10:00 a.m. – 8:30 p.m.

Customers are able to purchase Forever Stamps, drop off prepaid mail and packages and pick up Priority Mail Flat Rate Boxes and envelopes. The convenience for customers is that many VPOs offer expanded business hours, including Sundays and holidays.

VPOs and other Approved Postal Providers are operated by third parties and complement the Postal Service’s own network by offering customers expanded retail access to postal products and services at convenient hours and locations.

The Postal Service receives no tax dollars for operating expenses and relies on the sale of postage, products and services to fund its operations.
