Danbury Post Office Hosts Passport Fair At The Portuguese Cultural Center On Saturday, March 7th

DANBURY, CT — Danbury Post Office will host a passport fair on Saturday, March 7th, from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. at the Portuguese Cultural Center, located at 65 Sandpit Road in Danbury.. 

Passport photos will be available for a $15 fee and passport applications can be found online at www.usps.com. A Spanish speaking representative will be on hand to assist Spanish speaking customers.

Acting Danbury Postmaster Ephrem Nguyen explains that the United States Postal Service can accept first time passport applicants and offer information for renewals.  With enhanced travel security, passports are the prime accepted identification for travelers. “Our customers are the reason we’re in business, and providing them with extended service hours is an opportunity for the Postal Service to serve the needs of our community,” says Nguyen.

He offers these helpful tips for applying for a passport:
►     Fill out the application (DS11), before you come to the post office – but don’t sign it.
►     Bring proof of US citizenship (provide one of the following)

  •       Previous fully valid U.S. Passport
  •       Certified U.S. birth certificate
  •       Consular Report of Birth Abroad or Certification of Birth
  •       Certificate of Naturalization or Citizenship

►     Proof of identity (Current, valid driver’s license – Government employee ID – Military ID)
►     Children under age 16, the child both parents must be present.     
►     Lindenhurst postal officials can take the photographs for a $15.00 fee per person.
