Postal Service’s Suncoast District Is Hiring

TAMPA FL — The Postal Service’s Suncoast District is accepting employment applications for Postal Support Employees (PSE), Rural Carrier Associates, City Carrier Transitional Employees and Casual (Temporary) Positions.  Information on specific positions is below.

(Note: The Suncoast District includes Post Offices with the first three digits of the ZIP Code beginning with 321, 327, 328, 329, 335, 336, 337, 338, 339, 341, 342, 346, 347)

USPS STARTING POSITION INFO:

Postal Support Employees (PSE)Can work as any type of APWU position such as clerk, custodian etc.  Can be required to work anytime, 24/7 depending on the position they are hired for.  Can be required to qualify for schemes or skills (such as Window Training) to do their job.  PSEs have the potential to convert to career.

PSE BENEFIT INFORMATION:  Limited benefits include raises, paid vacation days and access to health insurance after the first 360-day term.   Starting Salaries depend on the level of position hired for: Level 3:  $12.00; Level 4:  $12.38; Level 5:  $13.74; Level 6:  $14.60; Level 7:  $15.52;
Level 8:  $15.85

Rural Carrier Associate (RCA) – Relief for Rural Carriers on days off and may only work 1 day a week on the regular rural carriers off day. RCA starting salary is $19.45 an hour, plus a vehicle maintenance fee if using their own vehicle. Must take an exam when applying for this position and there is a possibility to convert to career from this position.

City Carrier Transitional Employee (TE) - City Carrier non-career employee.  360 day appointments and have some limited benefits similar to PSE benefits.  TEs are not on the pathway to a career position and cannot convert to career from this position. TE starting salary is $22.15 an hour.

Casual (Temporary) Positions - Temporary seasonal hiring, starting at $12.00 an hour.

The Postal Service receives no tax dollars for operating expenses and relies on the sale of postage, products and services to fund its operations.
