TAMPA FL — Following a community meeting and careful review of all public feedback, as well as in appeals and comments received after the public meeting, the Postal Service has made a final decision to relocate the Mount Dora, FL, Post Office located at 711 N. Donnelly Street, Mount Dora, FL 32757-9998.

The Postal Service is relocating its retail operation from an undersized facility to a new space that suits the current requirements of the Postal Service and the community.

The Postal Service’s goal is to select a new location as close as possible to the current location. Consideration will be given to sites that are convenient for customers and will meet postal operational needs. The Postal Service anticipates providing the same services at the new location as are currently provided to customers at the existing location.

Additionally, the Postal Service plans to continue services at the existing Post Office until the replacement facility is open and operating as a Post Office.  There will be no changes to mail delivery.

While the Postal Service is sensitive to the impact of this decision on its customers and the Mount Dora, Florida, community, the Postal Service properly considered community input and this decision is consistent with Postal Service objectives.

A final determination letter was mailed to The Honorable Nick Girone, Mayor of Mount Dora, Florida.

The Postal Service receives no tax dollars for operating expenses and relies on the sale of postage, products and services to fund its operations.
