INDIANAPOLIS, IN The U.S. Postal Service wants the season to be merry and bright for our customers this year. To help with the hustle of the holidays, select Post Office retail operations throughout the Greater Indiana District will open for four hours on the three Sundays leading up to Christmas Day — Dec. 7, 14 and 21.

“As we count down to the holidays, we know how stressful the season can be as we rush to get everything done on time,” said Greater Indiana District Manager Larry Diegel. “Opening on Sundays from noon to 4 p.m. in select Post Offices will help our customers check holiday mailing off their list,” he said.

“With a little help from the Postal Service, you can prepare your holiday shipments with ease so you can get back to enjoying this special time of year,” Diegel said. “We expect to deliver about 15.5 billion cards, letters and packages nationwide this year, and we’re hoping that opening select retail operations on Sundays will help smooth the process.”

The following Post Office retail locations will be open from noon to 4 p.m. on Dec. 7, Dec. 14 and Dec. 21.

  • Indianapolis Stations: Bacon, Wanamaker, Oaklandon, Castleton, Eagle Creek, Nora, Park Fletcher and Southport.
  • Outside Marion County: Carmel, Noblesville, Zionsville, Westfield, Anderson, West Lafayette, Fishers, Lafayette, Columbus, Madison, Greenwood, Muncie and Richmond.
  • Northwest area: Valparaiso and Merrillville.
  • Southern Indiana: Bloomington, Woodbridge, Terre Haute Main Office, Terre Haute Rose,  Bedford, Brazil and Clear Creek.
  • Fort Wayne area: Fort Wayne Main Office and Centennial.
  • South Bend area: South Bend Main Office, Edison Park, Elkhart, Chippewa, Mishawaka, Marion and Kokomo.

The Postal Service receives no tax dollars for operating expenses and relies on the sale of postage, products and services to fund its operations.
