Post Offices to Close in observance of Presidents’ Day

Self Service Kiosk Available at Select Post Offices

INDIANAPOLIS, IN The United States Postal Service will observe President’s Day on Monday, February 15, a federal holiday. Post Offices throughout the Greater Indiana District will be closed and there will be no mail delivery.

Customers needing postal services may use self-service kiosks at select locations or visit Postal Service Approved Shippers such as Office Depot and Staples. Go to https://tools.usps.com/go/POLocatorAction to find a location near you.

Self Service kiosks are located at:

Carmel, Fishers, Lafayette, West Lafayette, Noblesville, Zionsville, Westfield, Brownsburg, Columbus, Greenwood and Plainfield, and Indianapolis branches Bacon, Castleton, Eagle Creek, Main Post Office (downtown), New Augusta, Nora, Park Fletcher and Southport. Additionally, Fort Wayne Main Post Office, Northbrook Mall, Northwood, Schererville, Valparaiso, Chesterton, Crown Point, Merrillville, Portage,  Kokomo, Mishawaka, Edison Park, South Bend Main Post Office, Warsaw, Woodbridge, Bloomington and Terre Haute Main Office.

“We want to advise anyone with stamped or metered mail ready for delivery to drop this mail into a blue collection box instead of waiting to do so the following day,” said Greater Indiana District Manager Larry Diegel.  “This also applies to our business customers. We want to get a quick start on processing their mail.”

Post Offices will reopen and mail delivery will resume on Tuesday, February 16, 2016.

The Postal Service receives no tax dollars for operating expenses and relies on the sale of postage, products and services to fund its operations.
