BATON ROUGE — In the aftermath of last month’s floods, some Post Offices were damaged.  In an effort to quickly restore service to its customers, the Postal Service made special arrangements in some locations.

Currently, Denham Springs customers are being served at a temporary structure at the Denham Springs Post Office, located at 140 Del Orleans.   P.O. Box customers can retrieve their mail and packages, retail services are being provided, and any customer who receives a “Left Notice” slip in their mailbox can pick up packages and other items.

In an effort to provide convenience for our customers, the Postal Service recently adjusted hours of operation at the temporary location.  P.O. Box pickup service is now available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.  This is only for customers who currently have a P.O. Box.  All other services will be provided during the hours indicated below.

Additionally, retail services are now available six days a week, Mon.-Fri. 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. (Noon).  These retail hours are for customers wishing to purchase stamps, postage or other services, send packages or letters, or retrieve items for which they receive a “Left Notice” slip.

The Postal Service continues to deliver to residential customers at homes with a properly placed mail receptacle. If your mailbox was damaged or knocked down during the recent flooding, please ensure you reinstall the mailbox so we can make delivery.  If you are unable to receive mail at your home or business, you can fill out a Change of Address (COA) form to temporarily forward your mail.  COA forms are available at the mobile retail unit at the Denham Springs Post Office.

We appreciate the patience of our customers, as the Postal Service continues working hard to restore prompt and reliable mail delivery service to all customers.
