Detroit, MI — The U.S. Postal Service is committed to making sure the holiday season will be accommodating for our customers and this even includes Sundays.
Once again certain Macomb County post office locations will have Sunday retail hours for the next two Sundays prior to Christmas, December 11 and December 18, 2016.
“We realize as the holidays get closer, opening on Sundays will help our customers with stamp purchases as well as mailing their holiday cards and packages,” says District Manager Lee Thompson, Detroit District.
“We expect to deliver an estimated 16 billion cards, letters and packages nationwide this year, and we’re hoping that opening retail operations on Sundays will help smooth the process,” she further added.
The Macomb County Post Office retail location(s) will be open Sunday, 12/11, and 12/18, from 10:00 A.M. until 5:00 P.M.:

And with the increased mail volume the Postal Service will be delivering parcels daily and often at times outside of the regular delivery hours.
This means you may see postal employees delivering packages earlier in the morning and later in the evening, in their postal vehicles. As we get further into the holiday season, this will include Sundays as well. The reason we are doing this is to serve and provide our customers the best holiday experience possible.
The Postal Service receives no tax dollars for operating expenses and relies on the sale of postage, products and services to fund its operations.
