Letter carriers from the Southfield Post Office adopted four families with 13 children, many of whom are enrolled at the Bradford Academy in Southfield, Mi. More than 60 presents will be delivered to the families and their children at the Bradford Academy on Friday, December 23, 2016. “I’m so proud of our letter carriers who care about the communities they serve,” says Sandy Laemmel, president, Branch 1, National Association of Letter Carriers. “Opening their hearts and donating gifts to the families is another example of how they give back to the community. They have been working hard to deliver letters and packages in time for the holiday. To take the time to make this contribution means a lot to our letter carriers.” |
The Postal Service receives no tax dollars for operating expenses and relies on the sale of postage, products and services to fund its operations.
