Angier Post Office to Host Passport Fair on March 11

Customers encouraged to complete application beforehand

ANGIER, NC — The Angier Post Office will host a passport fair on Saturday, March 11 at 31 W. Dupree St. from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Postmaster Rhonda Abernathy offers this event for the convenience of customers seeking to renew or apply for new passports in area. No appointment is necessary.

In order to expedite the process, customers are encouraged to complete applications before arriving. Customers should allow 15 minutes per transaction, depending upon the number of applicants in a transaction. 

“Many customers are already preparing for spring and summer travels,” said Abernathy. “I recommend that customers who need to renew or apply for a passport come to the passport fair as part of their travel planning.”

Passport fees are as follows: Adults: Books - $110, Cards - $30; Children (under 16): Books - $80, Cards - $15. USPS Fees: $25 execution fee; photos (if needed) - $15.

Identification, including a copy, is required to prove U.S. citizenship, such as:

  • Previously issued, undamaged U.S. passport
  • Certified birth certificate issued by the city, county, or state
  • Consular report of birth abroad or birth certificate
  • Naturalization certificate
  • Certificate of citizenship

In addition, one current ID is required, such as:

  • Naturalization certificate
  • Valid driver's license
  • Current government ID (city, state or federal)
  • Current military ID (military and dependents)

Customers can call 1-800-ASK-USPS or visit the Postal Service’s website www.usps.com to get the location of other nearby passport Post Offices and their passport customer service hours. Passport customers are encouraged to check the U.S. State Department’s website at www.travel.state.gov to obtain additional information.
