NEW YORK CITY (5 BOROUGHS) AND LONG ISLAND – Earlier this year the Postal Service launched ‘USPS Tracking’ (formerly Delivery Confirmation).  USPS Tracking is offered FREE to customers using Priority Mail or Standard Post (formerly known as Parcel Post) – in addition to free tracking service that has been a regular offering with Express Mail.

  • This new service enhancement provides customers with the ability to know when their package has arrived — at no additional cost.
  • That’s a savings of 75 cents per item at retail counters.
  • No more fiddling around with an extra Delivery Confirmation label — the postal tracking number is readily accessible on the mailing receipt.

USPS Tracking is also available for purchase with First-Class Mail parcels and with Media Mail, Library Mail, and Bound Printed Matter items.

USPS Tracking provides delivery information when you access www.usps.com (click on Track & Confirm) or call toll-free 800–222-1811.

The Postal Service receives no tax dollars for operating expenses and relies solely on the sale of postage, products and services to fund its operations.
