MELVILLE, LI — Postal officials are announcing only Priority Mail Express will be delivered and Post Offices will be closed on Monday, May 30th, in observance of the Memorial Day federal holiday. Normal mail delivery, postal retail operations, and mail collections will resume on Tuesday, May 31st.
Postal customers have many options for postal services even when the regular Post Office is not open. Customers should visit www.usps.com and go to the tools drop down menu and then to Post Offices and Approved Postal Providers to enter a city and state to find postal providers in their area. Many Post Offices also offer 24 hours self-service kiosks at some locations, which also can be found online.
The Postal Service receives no tax dollars for operating expenses and relies on the sale of postage, products and services to fund its operations.
