NYC Collection Boxes in the Area Receive Temporary Seal / Removal

NEW YORK, NY – In the interest of safety and security, postal officials will seal or remove Postal Service collection boxes around the Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree Lighting ceremony, scheduled for Wednesday November 30, in New York City.

The familiar blue collection boxes will be inaccessible after the final scheduled collection of mail on the evening of Tuesday, November 29. Impacted collection boxes will be reopened on the morning of Thursday, December 1.

US Mail Collection Boxes impacted at the following locations:
1.         48th Street – between 5th Avenue and 7th Avenue
2.         49th Street – between 5th Avenue and 7th Avenue
3.         50th Street – between Madison Avenue and 7th Avenue
4.         51st Street – between Lexington Avenue and 7th Avenue
5.         5th Avenue – between 48th Street and 56th Street
6.         6th Avenue – between 47th Street and 53rd Street
7.         All exterior boxes within the Rockefeller Plaza Complex – 48th Street and 51st Street.

For additional locations to deposit mail, customers are directed to usps.com and use Quick Tools to Find Locations. Use the dropdown for collection boxes or post offices to find alternate locations for secure mail deposits in the immediate area.
