Colorado Springs Postmaster Lends Helping Hand During Holiday Shipping Rush

USPS expected to deliver 900 million packages this holiday season

The local postmaster will offer a “Helping Hand” at a meet-and-greet with the public. Postal customers are invited to stop in and meet/get to know the local postmaster, who will also offer any needed assistance with Postal products and services.

Background:

In the spirit of the holiday season, Colorado Springs Postmaster JoLea Quintana will be lending a helping hand in the post office lobby. Jolea will meet and greet customers and offer needed assistance with Postal products and services.

The event will offer local businesses and residents an opportunity to interact with the postmaster. The holiday season is a great time of year to show new and existing customers the U.S. Postal Service makes customer satisfaction priority number one.

Additional Information:

  • The Postal Service is projecting a more than 5% increase in total mail volume this holiday season, including a total of 900 million packages.
  • We are delivering on Sundays too. More than 8 million packages will be delivered every Sunday after Thanksgiving.
  • More than 15 billion total pieces of mail and packages will be delivered between Thanksgiving and New Year’s Eve.   
  • Busiest Week is Dec. 17 – 23, where we will handle 2 billion cards, letters and packages. Included in this number is  200 million packages.
