Local Mail Carrier Hero Saves the Life of a Customer

Local Mail Carrier receives a letter of recognition from the Postmaster General for his observant and swift actions saving the life of a Senior Citizen in need of medical help.

Background:

On October 15, 2018, Rockrimmon Letter Carrier William Barber II exhibited great personal care and concern for one of his customers that lived on his route in Colorado Springs 80919. The elderly customer had fallen while walking her dog. William ran to the aid of the customer and quickly called 911. William stayed with her until Paramedics arrived. Family members credit William with saving the life of their mother, Mary Newman.
