USPS service alerts have information for consumers, small businesses and business mailers about postal facility service disruptions caused by weather-related and other natural disasters, special events, or other changes impacting service.

Winter Storms Blair and Cora impacting delivery

Heavy snow, freezing rain, icy conditions, and severe weather events in the Central Plains through the Mid-Atlantic (New Mexico, Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Louisiana, Alabama, Mississippi, Georgia, Tennessee, Colorado, Kansas, Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Kentucky, West Virginia, Virginia, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Delaware, Washington DC, New Jersey, New York, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Vermont, and Connecticut) may impact the processing, transportation, and delivery of mail and packages.

This includes delays with our Air Network suppliers which ultimately impact timely delivery into our USPS network. We are closely monitoring the situation within our own USPS network and that of our Air Network suppliers.

Wildfires impacting delivery

Wildfires (Palisades, Eaton, Hurst) in Southern California (Malibu, Santa Monica, Los Angeles, Pasadena, and San Fernando) are impacting the delivery of mail and packages.

U.S. Postal Service will resume acceptance of mail and packages to Canada

The U.S. Postal Service will resume acceptance of mail and packages to Canada starting Monday, Jan. 6, 2025. Canada Post has made significant progress in clearing delayed volumes caused by their employee strike, and now commercial and retail customers, as well as those using online systems, will be able to send mail and packages to Canada once again.

Residential customers and small businesses can find out if mail is being delivered, or if their Post Offices are open. Business mailers get more detailed information about USPS mail processing facilities, and the operating status of delivery units, as well as any impacts on mail delivery overseas.
