New Management Instruction EL-830-2008-5, Control of Asbestos Exposure From Brake and Clutch Repair and Service

Effective immediately, Management Instruction (MI) EL–830-2008-5, Control of Asbestos Exposure From Brake and Clutch Repair Service, makes obsolete MI EL-830-1999-5, Control of Asbestos Exposure From Brake and Clutch Repair Service. This new MI contains updated:

n Organizational changes and references.

n Language on conveyor and powered industrial truck brakes, including Appendix F of OSHA’s general industry standard for asbestos (29 CFR 1910.1001).

n Instructions for high-efficiency particulate air (HEPA) vacuums regarding proper emptying and disposal of waste.
