DMM Revision: Permit Imprint Postage Payment Allowed for Express Mail Items in the Electronic Verification System Program

Effective October 5, 2009, Expedited Shipping is pleased to announce that commercial manifest mailers can now use the Electronic Verification System® (eVS®) pro­gram to manifest Express Mail® items.

New and current mailers who want to manifest Express Mail items through the eVS program will need to complete the required file testing and ensure that required shipping labels are certified to add Express Mail as a new mail class. For more information, contact the eVS help desk at 877-264-9693, option 1, or e-mail evs@usps.gov.

We will incorporate these revisions into the next printed version of the Mailing Standards of the United States Postal Service, Domestic Mail Manual (DMM®) and into the October update of the online DMM, which is available via Postal Explorer® at http://pe.usps.com.
