DMM Correction: Treatment of Cigarettes and Smokeless Tobacco as Nonmailable Matter — Effective Date

On June 17, 2010, the article “DMM Revision: Treatment of Cigarettes and Smokeless Tobacco as Nonmailable Matter” in Postal Bulletin (PB 22287, pages 28–33) revised Mailing Standards of the United States Postal Service, Domestic Mail Manual (DMM®) to describe new standards pertaining to the mailing of tobacco, cigarettes, and smokeless tobacco implemented under provisions of the Prevent All Cigarette Trafficking (PACT) Act. In that article, we stated the effective date as July 6, 2010. Consistent with the PACT Act, and as announced in the May 27, 2010, Federal Register (75 FR 29662–29671) final rule, the effective date of these standards is June 29, 2010.
