Stamp Announcement 13-28: Migratory Bird Hunting and Conservation Stamp

On June 28 2013, in Ashland, Virginia, at the Bass Pro Shop, the U.S. Department of the Interior will issue the $15 Migratory Bird Hunting and Conservation stamp for the 2013–2014 waterfowl hunting season.

The stamp will go on sale nationwide June 28, 2013, and is valid through June 30, 2014.

The Migratory Bird Hunting and Conservation stamp will be available in the following formats:

n Water-activated gum (WAG) Pane of 20
(Item 334800).

n Pressure-sensitive adhesive (PSA) Pane of 1
(Item 334900).

Stamp Distribution Offices (SDOs) and Stamp Distribution Centers (SDCs) will not receive an automatic distribution of Item 334800 for subsequent distribution to Post Offices™. The Migratory Bird Hunting and Conservation stamp, produced in the water-activated gum format, will only be automatically distributed to Stamp Fulfillment Services (SFS) in Kansas City, Missouri and by consignment via Amplex Corporation.

Stamp Distribution Offices (SDOs) and Stamp Distribution Centers (SDCs) will receive an automatic distribution of Item 334900. SDOs/SDCs will not make any automatic distribution to Post Offices with the exception of the planned offices which are participating in the Portland SDC Auto Replenishment Pilot (Seattle, Portland, Alaska and Salt Lake City districts). These offices will receive an automatic push amount based on previous sales. Post Offices requiring these items must requisition them from their designated SDO/SDC. Post Offices may preorder these stamps 30 days prior to first-day-of-issue through the eBuy2 SEAM Catalog. Post Offices should not sell the stamp prior to first-day-of-issue.

Post Offices

To allow Postmasters to order the 2013–2014 Migratory Bird Hunting and Conservation stamps in quantities approximating customer demand, there is no minimum ordering quantity. Postmasters should review their previous year’s sales records to determine the appropriate number of the 2013–2014 Migratory Bird stamps to requisition.

Postmasters should requisition sufficient quantities of Items 334900 to meet the expected demand for this item by stamp collectors, conservationists, and hunters.

Items with an asterisk (*) will use the 128 barcode from Stamp Fulfillment Services. All other philatelic products will continue to use barcode series A, with the exception of the Yearbook and the Guide Book.
