Tech Support Phone Scam

Graphic of Iphone, Fraud Scam

The Computer Incident Response Team (CIRT) is warning employees to be aware of a scam involving phone calls from a fake technical support company.

Scammers are calling postal facilities and claiming to be from Microsoft® support or a company called the Geek Support Line. They try to convince employees to give them access to their computers for “problems they are experiencing” by sending employees to a website that may contain malware.

CIRT recommends that employees who receive these or similar calls hang up immediately.

Employees who receive these calls can contact the CIRT at 866-877-7247 or by email at uspscirt@usps.gov.
