Investment Recovery has created a list of items that we request you dispose of locally rather than sending to the Topeka Material Distribution Center (TMDC). The list includes but is not limited to:
n Batteries: For disposal, follow the Batteries — “We Recycle Every Battery!” instructions at http://blue.usps.gov/sustainability/battery-recycling.htm.
n Furniture: wood based or plastic (laminate included);
n Cubicle walls or partitions;
n Any clothing;
n Desks;
n Tables; and
n Chairs.
n VHS tapes, DVDs, CDs, and cassettes for disposal must follow the guidance for Other Recyclables at http://supply.blueshare.usps.gov/sites/AMI/web/AM/Investment Recovery Documents/Other Recyclables.docx.
n Packaging products and shipping containers.
n Return toner cartridges (used) according to the USPS® BlueEarth instructions at http://blueearth.usps.gov/.
n Stationery supplies and writing instruments.
n CRT monitors.
n CRT televisions.
n Microwave ovens.
n Labels, tape, adhesive cards, pamphlets, booklets, hanging signs, and obsolete forms.
n Fluorescent light bulbs: For disposal, follow MLB-CO-14-017, Mandatory National Fluorescent Lamp Mail Back Program, at http://blue.usps.gov/purchase/_pdf/ops_mlb14-017.pdf.
n Foam products;
n Wood products;
n Particle board;
n Fiberglass;
n Household recyclables;
n All Rubber material;
n Indicia paper and marketing materials; and
n Plastic tubing (not to include cables).
n Any cleaning supplies.
n Paints and chemicals.
n Vacuum cleaners and filters.
