SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
All commercial goods entering Jamaica will take up to 7 days for clearance and delivery.
All non-document shipments must show phone number on the Air Waybill (Shipping Label) for recipient.
All non-documents valued over $100 US require: Tax Compliance Certificate, Trade Registration Number for both companies and individuals. Duties/Taxes are due upon delivery.
All raw wood packaging material over .25 inches thick must be treated and marked with requirements of ISPM-15 (International Standard Phytosanitary Measures). Excludes - Wood Packaging made wholly of wood-based products such as plywood, plastic board, oriented strand board or veneer created using glue head and pressure or a combination.
Dutiable inbound shipments to Jamaica may incur ancillary charges (Formal Entry fee, Simplified Entry Fee and Amendments).
Lot and district address are prohibited. Full street address or telephone numbers needed.
Non-document shipments may require a Caricom Invoice. This is a special Invoice used by some Caribbean countries and can be obtained by the recipient. When required, the shipment cannot clear Customs without this document.
Non-documents shipped to an individual may require a Tax Compliance Certificate if quantity is considered "commercial". This would be determined by Customs upon arrival. Recipient would then be required to apply to the Revenue Board in Jamaica for a Tax Compliance Certificate in order for goods to be cleared.
Only original manufacturer's invoice or store receipts are accepted for Customs clearance purposes for non-document shipments. Non-document shipments without these documents may incur clearance delay. (Destination requirement only, no action required by shipper.)
Passports are only accepted from Embassy to Embassy. Embassy to individual and individual to Embassy.
Personal shipments up to $1,000 US take 3-5 days for clearance.
Shipper and recipient information must be complete and accurate for Customs clearance purposes.
Warehousing charges (storage and handling fees) will apply if complete documentation is not received to clear shipments from Customs.
Written clearance authorization required for all non-document shipments.
