Many parts of Vision 2013 are based upon things we are already beginning to do. However, we also need to go into less familiar territory if we are to succeed in the future. We will become more comfortable with using the Internet to build our business. We will collaborate more effectively internally and externally to become more innovative, and we will take a leadership role in helping the industry become more environmentally sustainable.

Use the Full Potential of the Internet We will create a more customer-friendly usps.com and new mobile applications that offer immediate access to postal information and services. We will work with innovative companies to design Web-based services and create new applications for mail. We will design mailing and shipping services that complement the Internet, leveraging the power of mail to attract customers to Web sites and expand our market. |

Be a Sustainability Leader We will assist the mailing industry to become more energy efficient and environmentally responsible. We will expand our leadership role within the mailing industry in adopting and promoting business practices that are environmentally and fiscally responsible. We will actively engage suppliers, employees, customers, and the communities we serve to adopt sustainable practices. |

Collaborate to Grow the Business We cannot do everything we need to do by ourselves. We will challenge traditional notions of innovation in our industry. We will collaborate with our customers, suppliers, and employees to develop profitable new services and approaches. We will work closely with the mailing industry, the academic and technical community, and with other government agencies to accelerate innovation for our customers. |
