Maura McDevitt was named vice president, Controller in June 2014, reporting to the chief financial officer and executive vice president. She is responsible for certifying financial filings as the Postal Service’s chief accounting officer. She is also responsible for the Postal Service’s External Reporting, Corporate Accounting, Accounting Services, International Accounting, Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) Compliance, Finance Business Solutions, Revenue Assurance, and the Corporate Audit & Response Management group. She additionally held an interim role of acting vice president, Finance and Planning from October 2015 to February 2016.
McDevitt brings more than 20 years of experience in finance and accounting and has a strong background serving in senior-level finance and accounting roles with diverse organizations. She is a certified public accountant and a chartered global management accountant with big four accounting firm experience.
McDevitt served as the chief financial officer (CFO)/principal accounting officer of three companies. Prior to joining the Postal Service, she served as the CFO of TSS, Inc., a facilities and technology services company. Before that, she was the CFO of Hampshire Group Limited and of Spartan Foods of America, Inc. She has extensive experience with budgeting and financial analysis as well as with the preparation of all internal and Securities and Exchange Commission quarterly and annual financial reporting and implementation of new accounting software modules to create efficiencies.
McDevitt attended Clemson University and graduated magna cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in accountancy.
