Janice D. Walker was named vice president, Corporate Communications in October 2015. Walker is responsible for all aspects of our internal and external communications, and will lead our efforts to advance public understanding of our products, services and corporate mission.
Walker has more than 30 years of corporate communications, non-profit leadership and public relations agency experience. She has an extensive background in public affairs, community engagement, crisis and issue management, brand management and product promotion.
Walker founded and led a communications consulting firm, providing a wide range of strategic communications services to national corporations and non-profits. Previously, she served as vice president of Corporate Communications for the First Marblehead Corporation, a Boston-based financial services firm focused on the student loan marketplace. Prior to that, she held numerous communications positions over a nearly 20-year career with Fannie Mae in Washington, D.C., including vice president of News and Public Affairs and director of Regional Communications.
Walker earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in international studies from Washington College and pursued graduate work at American University.
