Erica Brix was named acting vice president, Area Operations, Great Lakes Area, in February 2018. She is responsible for managing ongoing Postal Service programs and operations, overseeing the development and implementation of strategies to increase productivity and revenue, and identifying current and potential operational opportunities to develop long-range, strategic initiatives.
Prior to this role, Brix was Western Area Manager, Operations Support. The Western Area is the largest geographical postal area in the country. Covering 2.2 million square miles, it encompasses 57 percent of the total land mass of the United States. Total operations include 106,000 employees with revenue of more than $12.7 billion. Deliveries are made to more than 24 million delivery points with 43,000 routes.
Brix began her Postal Service career in 1986 as a letter sorting machine clerk at the Minneapolis Processing and Distribution Center. She has served more than 30 years in managerial positions including Senior Plant Manager for the Northland District; Plant Manager for the Minneapolis/St. Paul Network Distribution Center and as acting District Manager for the Portland district.
A graduate of the Postal Service’s Advanced Leadership Program, Erica holds a bachelor of science degree in Business Management and is Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certified.
