Kelly M. Sigmon was named vice president of Channel Access in May 2011. Reporting to the chief marketing and sales officer, executive vice president, Sigmon oversees product and service access alternatives for consumer and small business channels and determines and implements where and how products are sold—whether in retail, on-line, or alternate locations. A career Postal Service employee, Sigmon has held numerous positions throughout her tenure. Prior to her current role, she served as vice president, Engineering Systems, and managed the support and development efforts for internal operational systems. Before that, she served as district manager for the Southeast Michigan Performance Cluster, where she was responsible for postal operations involving two processing and distribution centers and 124 Post Offices encompassing the eastern side of Michigan. In this role, Sigmon also oversaw the implementation of the Michigan Metroplex Facility, one of four implemented in the last three years nationwide. She has also served in various other capacities, including: senior plant manager of the Royal Oak, Michigan Processing and Distribution Center; area manager for In Plant Support in the Great Lakes Area; manager, In Plant Support, for the San Bernardino, California Processing and Distribution Center; and operations support specialist for the Pacific Area.
Sigmon holds a bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering from California State Polytechnic University, and a Masters of Business Administration from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
