Kelly M. Sigmon was named vice president, Retail and Customer Service Operations in August 2014. She is responsible for the optimization of a retail network and customer service operations that improves customer experience, maximizes retail revenue, and reduces the cost to serve. She reports to the chief operating officer and executive vice president.
In addition, she oversees the integration of strategy, technology and corporate policies and procedures. The department manages retail postal operations, retail partnerships, and Post Office distribution operations. Prior to this, Sigmon also served as the vice president, Retail Channel Operations.
In her previous positions, Sigmon served as vice president, Channel Access where she was responsible for the development and implementation of Retail Channel Strategy for consumers for the Postal Service. Sigmon also served as vice president, Engineering Systems managing the support and development efforts for internal operational systems.
During her tenure with the Postal Service, she has also served in various other operational and support capacities. Sigmon was district manager for the Southeast Michigan District, where she was responsible for postal operations involving two processing and distribution centers and 124 Post Offices encompassing the eastern side of Michigan. She oversaw the activation and implementation of the Michigan Metroplex Processing and Distribution Center. Sigmon also served as the senior plant manager of the Royal Oak, Michigan Processing and Distribution Center in the Southeast Michigan District. While coming up through the organization, she was area manager for In Plant Support in the Great Lakes Area; manager, In Plant Support, for the San Bernardino, California Processing and Distribution Center; and operations support specialist for the Pacific Area.
Sigmon holds a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering from California State Polytechnic University, and a Masters of Business Administration from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
