Chicago, IL — The Chicago Postal Customer Council (PCC) was honored on September 27 with a Platinum and Gold Award for its contributions to the region’s mailing industry at the Greater Illinois Postal Customer Council’s Annual Mailers Forum celebrating National PCC Week.

On hand to present the prestigious award was U.S. Postal Service Chief Marketing and Sales Officer, and Executive Vice President Jim Cochrane.  The award presentation was one of the highlights of the day-long mailing industry forum  held in Addison IL.  The Mailers Forum was part of the National PCC Week celebration with events held across the country from September 25 - 29.

PCCs are groups of mailing industry leaders and postal leaders who meet regularly to network and exchange mutually beneficial ideas. The Chicago PCC is one of more than 150 local PCC chapters throughout the nation. According to industry studies, the U.S. mailing industry employs more than 7 million people and represents more than $1.3 trillion in sales revenue.

PCC awards recognize those who, over the course of the recognition period, have conducted numerous educational and networking events and have documented quantifiable achievements resulting in members’ support and satisfaction, or who have undertaken innovative measures to forge stronger partnerships between local mailers and the Postal Service.

One of the exciting topics being discussed as part of National PCC Week is Informed Delivery, a new and innovative feature from the Postal Service that provides eligible residential consumers with digital previews of their incoming mail. PCCs recognize the continuing value and importance of the mail in the communication stream with customers, and Informed Delivery bridges the gap between the physical and digital worlds. This creates an innovative experience for consumers and maintains the relevancy of physical mail in today’s highly digital environment.

There are already 6.25 million customers signed up for Informed Delivery. Interested consumers can sign up at:
