SAN ANTONIO — The U.S. Postal Service (USPS) today recognized On Demand Mail Services for innovation and industry best practices. On Demand Mail Services was one of 14 award winners nationwide. Awards were presented on the final day of the National Postal Forum, the largest annual trade show in the country for the mailing industry, which was held this year in San Antonio.

The U.S. Postal Service Customer Awards honor mailers in two categories with the Mailing Innovation and Digital Award and the Shipping and eCommerce Innovation Award. Winners were selected in each of the Postal Service’s seven geographic Areas across the nation.

The Shipping and eCommerce Innovation Awards acknowledge companies that have pushed the boundaries of the eCommerce landscape to accelerate package growth. These companies have created improved fulfillment processes, using advanced software and technological capabilities to get customers’ packages to them ahead of their competition. Each company’s use of USPS shipping products have resulted in a winning partnership that drives growth and improves the customer experience.

On Demand Mail Services (ODMS) is a high-volume eVS Parcel shipper and Global Direct Entry partner with USPS. ODMS wanted to find a solution to fit its customers’ varying requirements for package processing. Inspired by the rise in eCommerce and fulfillment centers having more control of labeling processes, ODMS gave its customers a platform to create their own USPS shipping labels at their own facilities, anywhere in the world.

This advancement enables the printers/fulfillment centers to recognize bad addresses before shipments leave their facilities. It also provides ODMS customers with tracking numbers they can upload into their order systems for better en route shipment visibility. These parcels will arrive at ODMS, not only addressed, but with appropriate indicia, IMpb, customized return address labels, and all necessary sort markings. With the application of such changes, ODMS experienced 25 percent growth.
