Postal Consumer Advisory Council Seeks Volunteers

Introductory community meeting to be held

COLUMBUS, OH — The U.S. Postal Service is seeking volunteers from the communities of Bexley, Gahanna, Oakland Park, West Worthington and the west side of Columbus to serve on a local Postal Consumer Advisory Council. The Advisory Council will provide a forum for consumers to meet with USPS representatives to discuss customer concerns, ideas and suggestions that support improving customer satisfaction.

The purpose of the Postal Consumer Advisory Council includes:

  • Creating a better understanding of the Postal Service.
  • Opening dialogue between local postal managers and the communities they serve.
  • Provide postal managers with ideas and recommendations from diverse community viewpoints.
  • Developing a sense of community partnership in resolving issues related to postal services.
  • Providing a group of consumers with an opportunity to give input to proposed changes in local procedures, policies and/or products.
  • Developing an additional local mechanism for responding to consumer concerns.
  • Improving the quality of the service provided through a better understanding of consumer expectations.
  • Fostering a sense of community partnership and support, binding the community together to achieve a common goal.

The Postal Service will be accepting completed applications and answering questions about the Consumer Advisory Council during an introductory community meeting at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 25, 2018, at the Gahanna Lincoln High School, 140 S Hamilton Road, Gahanna, OH 43230.

Those who are unable to attend the meeting but are interested in volunteering to serve on the Postal Consumer Advisory Council may send completed applications to:
