Houston, TX Post Office Prepares for Super Bowl LI

HOUSTON, TX — Super Bowl LI is coming to Houston and the USPS is preparing for the big game. The U.S. Postal Service is pleased to announce that disruptions to post office operations as a result of the Super Bowl should be minimal. The Postal Service will be removing several collection boxes near downtown Houston and NRG Stadium areas to aid in security and accommodate the planned activities associated with this year's game.

The following collection boxes will be temporarily removed and out of service beginning Tuesday, Jan. 24 through Monday, Feb. 6. 
Downtown Houston Locations

  • 1510 Polk Street
  • 1404 San Jacinto
  • 1101 Caroline
  • 1221 Lamar
  • 1803 Pease
  • 2102 Mckinney Street

NRG Stadium Locations

  • 8080 N. Stadium (inside NRG compound)
  • 7707 Fannin Street
  • 7900 Fannin Street
  • 8334 Fannin Street

Customers are advised to deposit mail at alternate Postal facilities or in blue collection boxes outside of the vicinity of the Super Bowl festivities.

Customers can call 1-800-ASK-USPS (1-800-275-8777) to obtain information, including available alternate Post Office retail locations, or check the Postal Service website: www.usps.com. The Postal Service’s smartphone app makes it even quicker to use the most popular functions on www.usps.com, anytime and anywhere.

The Postal Service receives no tax dollars for operating expenses and relies on the sale of postage, products and services to fund its operations.
