The Service That Never Sleeps!

U.S. Postal Service Operations Don’t Stop – Even On Holidays

TAMPA, FL —   On Monday, Feb. 18, the country will mark the Presidents’ Day national holiday.  Post Offices nationwide will be closed that day, but we are reminding customers that the U.S. Postal Service never stops working – even on a holiday.  We continue to collect, process, sort, and transport mail 24-hours a day, seven days a week.

Whether you are paying bills, mailing those special cards, or shipping packages, stop by while you’re out and about on the long holiday weekend.  We will accept your items any time and any day – Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and even Monday – and we’ll get them on their way.  Even if your local Post Office’s retail counter is closed, you can still drop mail in Post Office lobbies or in our blue collection boxes.

Individual/residential customers:  You can drop letters or cards into a blue collection box or bring them inside the Post Office and place in our lobby drop slots.  If you need to mail packages, use our Self-Service Kiosk (SSK) to purchase postage. If you have pre-printed postage labels, just bring items to our lobby and place in the chute located next to the SSK.

Small business owners: Whether you’re doing business online, shipping items to customers, using Click-N-Ship or printing postage at home, bring packages to your local Post Office and drop them inside the lobby in the convenient chute located near the SSK. In some locations, our Business Mail Entry Units (BMEU) will be open, so please check with your local USPS representative for operating hours on Feb. 18.

No matter if it’s a holiday or any other day, the mail never stops moving.  Our vast network operates all day, every day, and we want to get your mail as early as possible.  So, as you head out for the Presidents’ Day sales, bring along your cards, letters, and packages and drop them off with us. We are the service that never sleeps and we’re proud to serve you.

Customers can visit www.usps.com/locations for specific Post Office hours and to find locations of Self-Service Kiosks (SSK) available in Post Office lobbies, many which are open 24/7.

The Postal Service receives no tax dollars for operating expenses and relies on the sale of postage, products and services to fund its operations.
