U.S. Postal Service Honoring Legendary Broadcaster and Journalist Gwen Ifill

The Champaign Illinois Post Office will host a community event honoring the 43rd stamp in the Black Heritage series for Gwen Ifill, one of the nations most esteemed journalist. The stamp art features a photo of Ifill taken in 2008 by photographer Robert Severi. Art Director Derry Noyes designed the stamp.


Saturday, February 8, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. is the community event. Passport Applications will be processed until 3pm.

United States Postal Service in collaboration with Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. – Champaign Urbana Alumnae Chapter Social Action Committee. Will bring awareness to community on the various topics of Community Programs, Stamp Collecting, and Informed Delivery as well as offer Passports Applications and information on the Job Fair for Rural Carrier Assistance.
The Black History information will be on display in the lobby depicting years of recognizing the Postal Service Black Heritage Series.   Join us for this community event filled with social information as well as educational material for young and old. The community event is free and open to the public.
