Celebrating diversity for 25 years

National Museum of African American History and Culture stamp

LOUISVILLE, KENTUCKY — The Postal Service is celebrating a milestone at this year’s Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., event scheduled for Friday, January 18, 2019, at 9:00 a.m.  To mark the 25th anniversary of the celebration, the Kentuckiana Postal District and the Louisville Postmaster will present:  The Life, the Legacy, and the Vision of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.  The event will be held at ElderServe, Oak and Acorn Community Center, 631 S. 28th St., Louisville KY  40211.

Special guests and activities include Keynote Speaker Rev. Christopher S. Rhodes, pastor at Our Mother of Sorrows, Saint Elizabeth and Saint Therese; Guest Speaker District 1 Councilwoman Jessica Green; and musical guests, the Western Middle School Choir.  The event will end with a special stamp dedication of the Celebrating African American History and Culture Forever stamp.
