(Mail addressed to “Courageous Carter”)

LOUISVILLE, KY – Letter Carrier Jarett Sims is used to delivering important mailpieces to customers on his Louisville postal route.  But the recent volume of mail for one young boy stands above the rest.  A Facebook post by the boy’s father told of “Courageous Carter”, who is battling a rare form of cancer.  The post made it known Carter wanted cards for his birthday.  Since then, thousands of letters, cards, and packages have arrived for Carter.

Employees at the Annshire Postal Annex are anticipating the volume to peak on Carter’s birthday - Thursday, Oct. 17.

Sims is honored to deliver the deluge of birthday greetings.  “The courage Carter has shown has been humbling,” said Sims.  “I hope everyone continues to show him love.”  Sims has delivered on this route for the last four years.
