MILTON, NC — The U.S. Postal Service will relocate the Milton Post Office to a yet-to-be-determined location as close as reasonably possible to the former site.
We are in the process of searching for a new facility that will allow the Postal Service to offer the full continuity of services while remaining convenient for customers and suitable for Postal Service’s operational needs. Until a replacement location is found, the Postal Service will continue retail and delivery services from the Semora Post Office.
The relocation is necessary because the previous location is uninhabitable.
“The Postal Service greatly appreciates the input and support it has received from the community,” said Richard Hancock, Real Estate Specialist for the Postal Service. “We look forward to finding new location that will allow us to better serve our customers.”
The Postal Service receives no tax dollars for operating expenses and relies on the sale of postage, products and services to fund its operations.
