Notice of Public Meeting and Comment Period

USPS Proposing Relocation of Madisonburg, PA Post Office

What:

USPS representatives will attend a public meeting to propose the potential relocation of the Madisonburg, PA 16852 Post Office.

Who:

USPS Real Estate Specialist David Wolff.

When:

December 12, 2019 at 6 p.m.

Where:

Penn Valley Senior Center, 102 Leisure Lane, Madisonburg, PA 16852

Background:

The Postal Service is considering relocating the retail services that were provided at the Madisonburg Post Office to a yet‑to-be-determined location as close as reasonably possible to the previous location.

If the relocation is approved, Postal retail services would remain in the community at a different physical location within the same geographic ZIP Code area; there would be no impact on letter carrier delivery to residents and businesses, and no change to Post Office Box numbers or ZIP Codes.

The United States Postal Service will present this proposal during a 6 p.m. meeting scheduled for Thursday, December 12, 2019, at the Penn Valley Senior Center, 102 Leisure Lane, Madisonburg, PA 16852.

Written comments on the proposal will be accepted for 30 days following the meeting and may be submitted to:

David Wolff, Real Estate Specialist
United States Postal Service
PO Box 27497
Greensboro, NC 27498-1103
Richard.a.hancock2@usps.gov

The Postal Service receives no tax dollars for operating expenses, and relies on the sale of postage, products and services to fund its operations.
