Winter 2008 TO: POSTMASTERS AND STATION AND BRANCH MANAGERS SMALL BUSINESS SPECIALISTS AND BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT TEAMS SUBJECT: Seasons of Success Winter Contest—Win a trip for two to the National Postal Forum and Disneyland® in Anaheim, CA Many of your small business customers are already taking advantage of the many convenient ways they can do business with us. But there are still plenty who haven’t gotten the word yet. From January through March, your Business Connect activity should center on two opportunities: (1) demonstrate the convenience of doing business with us at usps.com/business, and (2) make customers aware of how simple shipping can be with our Flat Rate Envelopes and Flat Rate Boxes. For your effort, you will be entered in the second phase of the Seasons of Success Winter contest. Please review the enclosed Business Connect Contest Guide for a complete explanation of what you are being asked to accomplish this quarter as well as tips that will help you prepare an effective presentation of usps.com/business and flat rate packaging. In addition, you will find five copies of the “Shipping and Mailing Guide," designed specifically for the small business prospect, and five flat rate packaging inserts. After each customer sales call, leave a copy of the guide and insert along with a few samples of our packaging. Most important, don’t forget to ask the customer to give our services a try. While it may seem obvious, you would be surprised at how many of us make a great sales presentation, but then forget to ask for the sale. This winter portion of the yearlong Seasons of Success Business Connect contest rewards you for your selling efforts with an opportunity to win a 4-day trip for 2 to the National Postal Forum, including tickets to Disneyland in Anaheim, California, or one of fifty $50 gift certificates. All you have to do is execute the Business Connect activities outlined in the guide and record your actions with timely, accurate reporting in Business Connect. Thank you again for your hard work. Customers are showing their appreciation by giving us business that they used to give to our competitors — which is the greatest compliment we could ever receive. Sincerely, Anita Bizzotto Chief Marketing Officer and Executive Vice President
