IMM Revision: Bolivia — Service Suspension

Effective March 15, 2008, we are revising Mailing Standards of the United States Postal Service, International Mail Manual (IMM®) to reflect that Priority Mail International™ parcel service to Bolivia is suspended due to lack of available air transportation.

Until further notice, Post Offices™ must not accept Priority Mail International parcels destined to Bolivia. This suspension is applicable only to Priority Mail International parcels and does not include the Priority Mail International Flat-Rate Envelope or other international mail categories currently available to Bolivia.

For Priority Mail International parcels already deposited, Post Office employees must endorse them “Mail Service Temporarily Suspended — Return to Sender” and then place them in the mailstream for return. The Postal Service™ will refund postage and fees on mail returned due to the suspension of service, provided that the customer files an application in accordance with IMM 941 and 943.
