Update: Stamp Announcement 08-25: Charles and Ray Eames Special Dedication Postmark

In the article “Stamp Announcement 08-25: Charles and Ray Eames” in Postal Bulletin 22233 (5-22-08, pages 73–74), the following pictorial postmark is permitted. Post Offices™ planning events are prohibited from design­ing their own special pictorial postmark featuring Eames furniture or designs and incorporating their names, logo, or new art. The word “Station” or the abbreviation of “STA” is required somewhere in the design, because it will be a tem­porary station.

Guidelines for Finalizing Charles and Ray Eames Stamp Pictorial Postmark Art

To finalize the Charles and Ray Eames pictorial post­mark art, insert the date, city, and ZIP™ Code of the physical location of your event adjacent to the stamp image. Overall dimensions of the pictorial postmark must not exceed 4 inches horizontally by 2 inches vertically. Col­lectors prefer the dimensions 3 1/2 inches by 1 inch.
