Effective September 10, 2008, Management Instruction (MI) FM-640-2008-1, Expenses for Internal and External Events, makes obsolete MI FM-640-2001-4, Payment for Meals and Refreshments, and MI FM-640-1999-3, Travel Expense Charges for Meetings. This new MI provides policy and procedures for purchase and payment of official Postal Service™ business for both internal and external event-related expenses. It also references related policy and procedures contained in other Postal Service directives.
