The U.S. Postal Service will salute the role of science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) education in keeping our nation a global leader in innovation and providing new opportunities for all Americans to learn and explore the world with the STEM Education Commemorative Forever Stamps First-Day-of-Issue Dedication Ceremony. Attendees should enter through the Convention Center’s main entrance on Mt. Vernon Place NW to be directed to Hall E on the upper level of the Convention Center for the dedication ceremony.

Background:  

In an increasingly competitive world, proficiency in the fields collectively known as STEM — science, technology, engineering and mathematics — is more critical than ever. These stamps are designed to pique the curiosity of customers and feature a collage of faces, symbols, drawings and numbers that represent the complexity and interconnectedness of the STEM disciplines. Artist David Plunkert worked with art director Antonio Alcalá to create these stamps.
