DMM Revision: Arizona District ZIP Codes Realigned to Include “851” 3-Digit Service Area

Effective July 1, 2009, the Postal Service™ revised Mailing Standards of the United States Postal Service, Domestic Mail Manual (DMM®), to realign ZIP™ Code boundaries and establish new ZIP Codes for the Arizona District.

This realignment impacted the following 30 zones within the “852” 3-digit ZIP Code service area: 85217–23, 85227–28, 85230–32, 85235, 85237–43, 85245, 85247, 85272–73, 85278, and 85290–94. A new “851” 3-digit ZIP Code service area was established and consists of the above impacted zones, which were realigned as follows: 85117–23, 85127–28, 85130–32, 85135, 85137–43, 85145, 85147, 85172–73, 85178, and 85190–94.

This change will benefit both the Postal Service and our customers by allowing the Arizona District to effectively manage delivery efficiency and continued growth.

We incorporated these revisions into the July 1, 2009, monthly update of the online DMM, which is available via Postal Explorer® at http://pe.usps.com, and we will incorporate these revisions into the next printed version of the DMM.
