A Post Office In Your Business?

July 01, 2010

Cabot – The U.S. Postal Service is reaching out to members of the Cabot business community and entrepreneurs, to let them know of a unique income opportunity.  The U.S. Postal Service is seeking to form a partnership with a retailer or other business interested in operating a Contract Postal Unit (CPU) to provide a new outlet for Postal products and services to the community.  This partnership will help increase market share, increase foot traffic, and provide added value for customers.  Criteria for the partnership include:

  • Approximately 12’ x 12’ square feet available within the business
  • Cannot offer private mailbox service or competitive shipping products and services
  • Handicap accessibility – parking and ramp access nearby
  • Located in Cabot, AR

The more Postal products and services sold, the more the company earns through our percentage-based compensation plan.  Contract Postal Unit Managers report that many customers who come in to purchase stamps and mail packages also conduct business or purchase items offered in their stores.  Businesses will benefit from increased sales and new customers.

If you are interested in this unique opportunity, please Maria Geels at 501-228-4273 for more information.

A self-supporting government enterprise, the U.S. Postal Service is the only delivery service that reaches every address in the nation, 150 million residences, businesses and Post Office Boxes. The Postal Service receives no direct support from taxpayers. With 36,000 retail locations and the most frequently visited website in the federal government, the Postal Service relies on the sale of postage, products and services to pay for operating expenses. Named the Most Trusted Government Agency five consecutive years and the sixth Most Trusted Business in the nation by the Ponemon Institute, the Postal Service has annual revenue of more than $68 billion and delivers nearly half the world’s mail. If it were a private sector company, the U.S. Postal Service would rank 28th in the 2009 Fortune 500.
