JONESBORO, AR — In support of the White House’s Made in Rural America Export and Investment initiative on Aug. 4, the Jonesboro Post Office will host a small business educational event on international shipping and mailing from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Forrest L. Wood Nature Center, 600 E Lawson Rd., Jonesboro, AR 72404. Made in Rural America is intended to bring together federal resources to help rural businesses access new customers and markets abroad and take advantage of international trade assistance.

This cooperative interagency program allows for the USPS to lend our online tools, supplies and international shipping expertise to help rural businesses reach new customers and markets abroad, while supporting economic growth and jobs here in the United States.

Jonesboro Postmaster Robert Driskell said, “We are excited to take part in the Made in Rural America initiative and look forward to showcasing USPS products and services. Shipping options such as International Express and Priority Mail, and Global shipping as a whole, are just a few components of our educational plan. We will also demonstrate online tools that make it easy to create shipping labels, pay for postage and even create Customs forms,” Driskell added.

Throughout the summer, many Post Offices in and around rural America will host similar workshops where customers can learn about small business offerings designed to transform and grow business internationally. Program attendees will also learn from available federal and local business counselors and international trade specialists. Small business owners and entrepreneurs alike, who would like to attend, may register at usps.com/jonesboro.

Pursuant to the Made in Rural America Export and Investment initiative, the USPS is working collaboratively with the U.S. Department of Agriculture, the U.S. Department of Commerce - International Trade Administration, as together, we support the importance of small businesses by helping them to grow and expand into new markets.

The Postal Service receives no tax dollars for operating expenses and relies on the sale of postage, products and services to fund its operations.
